Man suffers life-threatening injuries in 'high-speed' crash on A6075 at Edwinstone

It occurred just before 4.45am this morning (Monday, October 7) and two people were taken to hospital

A man has been left with life-threatening injuries after what police called a "high-speed" car crash in Edwinstowe. The collision occurred at around 4.45am this morning (Monday, October 7) on Ollerton Road and emergency services were called.

A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s are believed to have been travelling in the Volkswagen Golf involved in the serious crash. The man's injuries are currently believed to be life-threatening, whereas the woman's injuries are not believed to be.

The road has remained closed in both directions after the incident, between the Royal Oak pub and the Ollerton roundabout, throughout Monday morning and into the early afternoon. People are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are still in the process of piecing together what happened and the road closures currently remain in place while we continue with our inquiries into the incident.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision who haven’t yet come forward or who may have dashcam footage that may be helpful to the investigation are urged to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible by calling 101, quoting incident number 57 of 7 October 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
