We won a £5m house in London but we don't want it anymore
The luxurious semi-detached dwelling, which has a gym, games area and spa facilities, has been put on the market
by Joel Moore · NottinghamshireLiveA newly-wed Nottinghamshire couple have put the £5 million London house they won in a competition up for sale after just two months. Hilary and Franco McManus bagged the four-bed property near Victoria Park after entering an Omaze prize draw for just £20.
The couple were announced as the winners on August 9. But the luxurious semi-detached dwelling, which has a gym, games area and spa facilities, was put on the market on October 7 - less than two months later.
The couple, who also won £250,000 in cash, were given the option to either keep, sell or rent out the mortgage-free property as part of the competition conditions. Speaking at the time, security analyst Franco said: "I love my job in Nottinghamshire and being close to my family, so it's not a clear-cut decision yet, but what a fantastic dilemma to have."

School teacher Hilary, 30, and Franco, 34, scooped the prize just months after tying the knot, and previously lived in a £250,000 house in rural Nottinghamshire. "The whole thing is just bonkers, we feel like the luckiest people in the world," they previously said.
"Our current house would literally fit into the living room. It's unbelievable." A description of the house, listed on Rightmove for £5 million, says it is a "once-in-a-generation opportunity to purchase a newly developed freehold warehouse amassing nearly 4,700 square foot across four floors with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a gym, sauna, spa, and a wealth of entertaining space".
It adds the property is "incredibly private and has been architecturally designed to an outstanding specification". The description continues: "A unique opportunity to acquire quite exceptional space in one of East London's most premium locations."
An Omaze spokesperson said: "Everyone at Omaze is absolutely delighted for the Grand Prize winners who decide to turn their winning entry - which cost just tens of pounds - into millions of pounds by selling their house to transform theirs and their loved ones' lives forever. All Omaze Grand Prize winners receive £250,000 in cash and can decide to either live in their new house, rent it out for a supplementary income or sell it whenever they wish to become a cash multi-millionaire, the choice is entirely theirs.
"They are free to put the house on the market and bank the cash as soon as they get the keys, it’s totally up to the winner what they want to do with their life-changing prize. Many Omaze winners choose to enjoy their new home for a period, before selling to become a cash multi-millionaire.
"Omaze is immensely proud to have created 29 millionaires whilst also raising more than £56 million for good causes in the UK since it launched here.”
