All the new Bank Holidays to be added to 2025 calendar

With only three bank holidays remaining in 2024, many are already looking forward to the dates for 2025. The dates of bank holidays shift each year due to weekends and movable annual holidays like Easter.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for additional bank holidays in 2025 beyond the standard eight days. The next bank holiday in England and Wales is Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, followed by Boxing Day on Thursday, December 26.

This means that the first bank holiday of 2025 will be New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1. While this year's Easter bank holidays were on March 29 and April 1, Easter will be slightly later next year, with Good Friday on April 18 and Easter Monday on April 21.

May's two bank holidays will be on Monday, May 5 and Monday, May 26, while the summer bank holiday, typically towards the end of the school summer holidays, will be on Monday, August 25. To conclude the year, Christmas bank holidays in 2025 will be on Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26.
