Police search after TV stolen during 'invasive' Nottingham city centre burglary
by Joshua Hartley · NottinghamshireLivePolice have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to after a TV was stolen during an 'invasive' break-in. The burglary took place at a property in Frogmore Street, off the A60 Mansfield Road in Nottingham city centre, between 5am and 10am on Friday, September 13.
The residents of the shared accommodation found that a television, as well as other electrical items, food and alcohol, had been stolen when they woke up. Nottinghamshire Police said that officers, who had been analysing hours of CCTV footage in relation to the crime, had now chosen to release a video clip captured by a passing bus.
The footage shows a bearded man with short hair, dressed in a dark blue top, blue jeans, and white trainers, walking down nearby Mansfield Road with a TV under his arm. Detective Constable Natalia Montano of Nottinghamshire Police appealed for members of the public to identify the man, who could have important information vital to the force's investigation.
“We believe the footage is clear enough for anyone who knows this man to identify him," DC Montano said. "Officers want to speak to him urgently following this burglary as we believe he could have important information.
“We are determined to find who is responsible as break-ins of this nature invariably have a financial and emotional impact on victims. No one deserves to have their safe space invaded by a stranger in this way.”
Police have asked anyone with helpful information to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 232 of September 13. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
