Police have released an urgent CCTV appeal after a teenage boy was repeatedly hit on the head with a phone while riding a Nottingham bus. The 14-year-old victim was on the NCT 77 bus travelling along Aspley Lane, Aspley, when he was attacked at around 7pm on November 20.

He was struck on the head with a mobile phone by a woman on the upper deck of the bus, according to Nottinghamshire Police. The force said one of the boy's eyes was injured by the assault.

Both the victim and the person who assaulted him got off at the next stop, with the suspect fleeing from the scene. Officers investigating the incident have now taken the step of releasing an image of someone they want to trace as part of their inquiries.

PC Luke Thomas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We’d ask that anybody who recognises this woman gets in touch to help us identify who she is. Likewise, if she sees this appeal, we’d ask her to please contact us, as we’d like to speak with her urgently.

“Our main reason for doing this is we believe she may be able to help us fully establish what happened that evening. Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101, quoting incident 630 of November 20, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
