Gogglebox fans 'livid' over 'bias' against Donald Trump in US election coverage

With the US presidential race reaching its climax, Gogglebox cast members were glued to their screens, watching Donald Trump and Kamala Harris vie for the top job. However, some viewers have accused the Channel 4 show of bias against Trump, suggesting that the opinions expressed by the cast were skewed.

Laughter erupted initially when Mary joked, "They're all going to have cardiac arrests, these old men! " But the mood soon shifted as viewers voiced their concerns on X, formerly known as Twitter. One viewer complained, "#gogglebox once again showing their left wing bias by showing all the negative comments on Trump, but none of the vile things the left have said about the right."

Another chimed in with, "Why is #gogglebox presenting such a bias view. Biden literally called Trump supporters garbage. Taking loads of stuff out of context..." Complaints continued with a third adding, "#gogglebox yawn, same old bias."

and a fourth alleging, "I see all the Goggleboxers have been told what to say about politics! " Another viewer labelled the show's take on Trump as "very predictable about Trump" using a sleeping emoji to express disdain.

Meanwhile, one comment struck a nerve when a fan mentioned being terrified of Trump voters, prompting a response that Brits should be more concerned with issues at home. A Twitter user retorted to the Gogglebox remark, "They must be bricking it in America", saying, "Sweetie you should be bricking it HERE! ", reports the Express.

Donald Trump has been making headlines with his incendiary comments, branding Joe Biden a "b*****d" and likening him to the devil, while also labelling Vice President Kamala Harris a "sleazebag". He even targeted former Republican Representative Liz Cheney for her support of Harris in a conversation with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, suggesting a brutal image: "Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? " "Let's see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face."

Meanwhile, during Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian, described Puerto Rico as "a floating island of garbage," prompting Biden to retort: "The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump's] supporters."

As Democrat chants of "Lock him up! Lock him up! " rang through one event, Harris coolly remarked at her own gathering: "The courts are going to handle that! " The contest between Harris and Trump remains nail-bitingly tight, with swing states poised to potentially tip the scales in next week's crucial election.
