by · NottinghamshireLive

A woman has shared a 'magic' sleep hack on TikTok that is reportedly helping people fall asleep in just minutes. Struggling with insomnia or difficulty falling asleep can be a frustrating and exhausting experience, which can impact daily life.

The NHS advises that occasional poor sleep shouldn't typically cause too much concern, "but it can become an issue if a lack of sleep starts to affect your daily life". It also warns that long-term sleep problems can "affect our relationships and social life, and leave us feeling tired all the time, eating more and not able to do daily tasks".

Many are turning to social media for advice and tips, and one woman's sleep strategies have resonated with millions on TikTok. In a viral video, viewed over 6.8 million times, content creator Olivia Hedlund shares a technique she learned from Dr Joe Dispenza, a best-selling author, researcher, lecturer, and corporate consultant known for his pineal gland meditation practices, designed to aid relaxation and improve sleep quality, reports the Mirror.

Speaking directly to the camera from her bed, Olivia captioned her video with "sleep hack that works like magic" and said: "If you're somebody who cannot fall asleep quickly, I have a hack that is going to change your life. I told two of my friends about it, they tried it and said they fell asleep literally instantly."

"It's a certain breathing technique that I learned from Joe Dispenza and then I tried it before I went to bed and it works so well. It's basically taking five deep breaths but these breaths are very specifically done."

Olivia advised viewers to look up Dispenza's pineal gland meditation online and shared, "You basically take a super slow inhale through your nose and you start clenching your body. You flex your abs and your stomach all the way up to your chest and you literally feel the breath go up your spine until I imagine it in the middle of my head."

"Then you hold it there for as long as you can and then you let it go, and you do that five times... do that five times, you'll fall asleep immediately."

People have been sharing their experiences in the comments section. One user commented: "I tried it and thought I was doing it wrong then I did it multiple times it helps! ! ! " Others had varying responses, with one expressing hopefulness: "I've been trying to fall asleep for the past 2hrs, this better work", and another confirming its effectiveness: "This worked for me actually".

Some users expressed strong endorsements, such as one who said: "Pineal gland meditation is my FAVE", and another who shared a personal success story: "It works. I didn't sleep for 20 years. Then I watched Dr Joe Dispenza for about three weeks four or five years ago and now I sleep easily every night."
