Floral tributes have been left outside the home of a 40-year-old Clifton man after he was found dead at the property. Police launched a murder investigation after Jonathan Dittia was discovered with serious injuries in a property on Eddleston Drive at around 8.30pm on Tuesday (September 17).

Mr Dittia was pronounced dead at the scene and a suspect was arrested. One week later, several bunches of flowers could be seen laid outside the boarded-up home.

Nottinghamshire Police now says that 34-year-old Caine Lonsdale, of Lerwick Close in Nottingham, has been charged with murder and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday (September 21).

In a statement, Mr Dittia's family said: "Jonathan was a gentle giant who has left a giant hole in our hearts. Gone but not forgotten."

Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Mr Dittia's family have been informed of this important development in our investigation. Specially trained officers will continue to support the family and the thoughts of the investigative team remain with them.

"I hope the wider community are comforted by our response which has seen this suspect arrested, charged and placed before the courts at the earliest opportunity." Those with information that could help the investigation should call police on 101, quoting incident number 754 of September 17.
