Nottingham businesses left in the dark after police tape off alleyway
by Joel Moore · NottinghamshireLiveBusinesses located in a discreet Nottingham alleyway have been left in the dark by police after an overnight cordon was set up earlier this week. The entrance to Eldon Chambers, off Wheeler Gate was taped off from Wednesday, November 6 until Thursday morning.
The cordon meant No. Twelve restaurant was forced to close its doors to customers. The nature of the investigation is unclear at present, with Nottinghamshire Police failing to provide any further details when repeatedly contacted by Nottinghamshire Live.
A worker at No. Twelve said they had "no idea, no clue" what had happened. "The front of the alleyway was taped off, people had to be escorted in and out," they said.
A worker at a neighbouring business added: "We've not been told anything, police have been quite secretive about it. I just know that there was an incident."
