Robin Hood Half Marathon 2024 Nottingham road closures: Full list as thousands to descend on city

The 43rd edition of the annual run is set to welcome more than 3,000 athletes

A full list of road closures has been released as thousands of runners prepare to descend on Nottingham for the Robin Hood Half Marathon. The 43rd edition of the annual event is set to be its biggest yet when it sets off from the Victoria Embankment at 9.30am on Sunday (September 29).

Over 3,000 runners are expected to follow a route that will take them through the city centre, the Park estate and Wollaton Park before again finishing at the Victoria Embankment. All the road closures in place during the event have now been confirmed, with closures on 36 roads or lanes overall.

The 13.1-mile run is open to everyone and although there is no set time for the event to close, most of the road closures will have lifted by around 1.30pm. Below are all of the road and lane closures in place, which all affect Sunday unless otherwise stated.

Vic Embankment/Wilford Grove - Bunbury Street to Wilford Grove - Road closed from Fri 22nd 12.00 until Monday 26th 12.00

London Road (Southbound) - Meadow Lane to Turneys Quay - Lane one closed 08.30 until 13.20 (access until 09.30)

London Road (both directions) - BBC Island to Trent Bridge - Road closed from 09.20 until 10.20

Meadow Lane/London Road - Access from Meadow Lane to London Road - Road closed from 09.20 until 10.20]

Loughborough Road (northbound) Approaching Trent Bridge, no access Trent Bridge - Lane closed from 06.00 until 16.20

Trent Bridge - Both directions - Road closed from 09.20 until 10.20

Queens Road - Whole road - Road closed - from 07.00 – Train station car park access only from 0.700 before a full closure from 9.20 until 10.20, when access to the train station car park resumes. The whole closure lifts from 13.05.

Carrington Street - Queens Road to Canal Street - Road closed from 09.20 until 13.00

Canal Street - BBC Island to Trent Street Westbound closed - Access for National Express and taxis only from 09.20 until 13.00

Canal Street - Carrington Street to Wilford Street Westbound closed from 08.30 until 13.05 with Eastbound open for buses and taxis only

Maid Marian Way - Upper Parliament Street to Canal Street - Road closed from 08.30 until 10.30, with Southbound open for buses and taxis only

Friar Lane - Maid Marian Way to Lenton Road - Road closed from 08.30 until 10.30

Lenton Road - Friar Lane to South Road - Road closed from 08.30 until 10.30

The Park - All roads/junctions on route - Closed from 08.30 until 10.50, with resident movement up to 9.25

Derby Road - St Helens Street to QMC Island - Road closed from 08.00 until 13.00

Triumph Road - Whole closed from 08.30 until 13.00

Wollaton Road A609 - Whole westbound road closed from 08.00 until 11.40

Ilkeston Road - Closed at Triumph Road westbound only from 08.00 until 11.45

A6154 (ring road) Crown Island - Whole road closed from 08.00 until 11.40, with access to Ilkeston Road eastbound one way

Middleton Boulevard (Northbound) - QMC roundabout to Crown Island - Road closed from between 05.00 to 08.30 until 11.40

Middleton Boulevard (Southbound) - Crown Island - Road closed from 09.30 until 11.40
