Expensive coat stolen during Nottingham robbery where victim allegedly threatened with machete

Nottinghamshire Police said a man in his 20s was punched and had his expensive Canada Goose jacket stolen outside McDonald’s on Milton Street, Nottingham city centre, at around 4.55pm on Monday, November 4.
The force added he had been reportedly attacked by a group of people, who then reportedly threatened him with a weapon. Police arrested three suspects shortly after in Old Market Square.
An initial search of one of the individuals resulted in the discovery of a machete, while Class A and Class B drugs were recovered from another suspect. Further checks of the trio were then made while in custody, which resulted in wraps of cocaine and cash being seized from one of them.
A 22-year-old man, 35-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old boy have all been arrested on suspicion of robbery. The man was additionally arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in public and possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Police also arrested the female suspect for possessing Class A and Class B drugs. The pricey jacket has not been recovered, with officers appealing to anyone who knows of its whereabouts to come forward.
Inspector Andy Wright, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While the victim in this case thankfully didn’t sustain serious injuries after being attacked, I’ve no doubt this will have been an incredibly distressing experience for him. After being assaulted and reportedly threatened with a knife, the man was made to hand over a high-value coat he was wearing at the time.
"We unfortunately haven't yet located this jacket, so we’d ask anyone who knows where it could be to please report this to the police on 101, quoting incident 485 of November 4. Information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
