Baked-on grease 'melts off' hobs in 5 minutes with 1 natural item - and it's not vinegar

Cleaning a hob can be one of the trickiest jobs in the kitchen, as it's often the victim of various spills, stains and splatters - but one product will make it a doddle

One cleaning guru has revealed their secret weapon for tackling tough stains on kitchen hobs – Dri-Pak liquid soda crystals. Nicola Davis from the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group was thrilled with the results, admitting: "I was absolutely dreading cleaning my hob but thanks to the Dri-Pak liquid soda crystals it was a breeze."

Nicola regretfully didn't capture the before state of her hob, stating: "Unfortunately I didn't think to take a pic before I started but it was in an awful state (don't judge me! ). Her method was simple, she said: "I just poured some of the stuff on and left it for five minutes followed by a wipe down with a microfibre cloth. It worked like magic. I didn't have to scrub at all."

Fellow group member Diane Sloan concurred: "I've tried everything on my hob. Nothing ever seemed to get rid of the stains as well as liquid soda crystals."

Katie Bourne chimed in: "Yeah I love this stuff! It works so much better than Elbow Grease." Rachel Simm had also switched over: "I usually use the Elbow Grease spray, but I used that stuff this time and the grease just melted off."

Further praising the product's versatility, Rachel added: "I've even used it to clean other things like my oven and even my washing machine."

The Dri-Pak Liquid Soda Crystals are a bargain, priced at £2.69 at Robert Dyas, £2 at Big Green Smile, and just £1.99 at Ethical Superstore. These multi-purpose soda crystals have alkaline properties that make them ideal for tackling various kitchen cleaning tasks, reports the Express.

They not only combat kitchen grime but also excel at removing soap scum, mould, and limescale from bathroom suites, tiles, and shower curtains. Cleaning expert Wendy Graham from Moral Fibres highly recommends them, stating that they make quick work of greasy hobs, allowing the grime to "wipe off with ease".
