Preliminary autopsy findings indicate that Liam Payne died from "multiple traumas" leading to "internal and external bleeding". The former One Direction member tragically passed away after a fall from the third floor of a hotel room last night in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Hotel staff made a distressing emergency call expressing concern for his welfare just moments before his death.

An autopsy was carried out by the Forensic Medical Corps at the Judicial Morgue on Viamonte Street, with Infobae reporting access to the initial findings. These findings are consistent with a ten-metre fall from the balcony of his room at the Casa Sur hotel on Godoy Cruz Street.

The report also mentioned that toxicological and anatomical-pathological studies of his blood and urine are underway to check for any drug traces. Furthermore, there may be a request for the musician's medical records to investigate his mental health history.

The investigation is currently under the direction of Prosecutor No. 16, Andrés Madrea, with Deputy Secretary María Florencia Lavaggi taking testimonies, reports the Mirror.

A comprehensive autopsy report will be released in time.

The Mobile Criminalistics Unit of the City Police of Buenos Aires has been gathering forensic evidence from a room at the Casa Sur hotel. Among the items found were a bottle of whiskey, a lighter, and a phone that could potentially belong to Liam, all of which may be scrutinised for fingerprints and messages.

The police also discovered a white powder in the room, along with medications such as clonazepam and energy pills. A notebook and the musician's passport were also seized and handed over to Prosecutor No. 16.
