Two arrests after gun fired in Clifton and brick thrown through window
by Oliver Pridmore · NottinghamshireLiveTwo people have been arrested after a firearm was discharged and a brick was thrown through a window on a Clifton street. Nottinghamshire Police says officers were called to Whitegate Vale at around 6pm on Tuesday (November 12) after reports of a window being damaged at a home.
It is not clear when a police cordon was first erected in the area, but officers were still at the scene of the incident on Friday. Nottinghamshire Police now says a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug after cannabis was discovered during searches. A 27-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of a Class B drug.
Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Incidents of this nature are thankfully very rare in Nottinghamshire but understandably cause concern in communities. Officers have been working hard on the investigation so I'm pleased to share this update.
"People in the community can expect to see a continued police presence in the area while inquiries continue so if anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer. Although these arrests are a significant development we are still asking for the public's help."
