A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a "caring" Scots dad in Uddingston.

David Graham died from serious neck injuries after he was allegedly attacked in the General's Gate area of the South Lanarkshire town at around 7.35pm on Sunday, October 6. The 38-year-old father was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Liam Kippen, 29, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court earlier today charged with the father's murder. Kippen, of Motherwell, made no plea or declaration.

He was remanded in custody while the case was committed for further examination. Kippen is due to reappear in the dock within the next eight days.

Meanwhile, David was been remembered as a "caring" man in tributes left online by those who knew him.

One person posted on social media: "Thoughts are with the family. David was a great guy, known well by all the community and was a very caring guy. Rip David. Love to all the family."

Another added: "My heart and thoughts go out to family and friends. I truly am so sorry for your loss." A third said: "Can't believe it. You were some boy, Div Graham, you will be sadly missed by so many."
