Singer Khalid has come out as gay after claiming he was outed on social media.
The R&B star told his fans: "I am not ashamed of my sexuality!" in a post on X, formerly called Twitter.
The 26-year-old Texas born singer shared a rainbow flag emoji and added: "There yall go. next topic please lol." Someone replied: "Wait hope Mr Khalid isn't GEHHH!" The Grammy nominated singer, whose full name is Khalid Donnel Robinson, replied: "I am! And that's okay."
Khalid continued addressing the topic of his sexuality in a new post. He wrote: "I got outted [sic] and the world still continues to turn. Let's get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain't nobodies [sic] business! But I am okay with me [black heart emoji] love yall."
A fan replied: "the closet was glass baby. but we accept you. its [sic] not about who you love its [sic] about your artistry!" Khalid shared the post and added: "I wasn't hiding anything! It's just not any of your business."
The Mirror reports one more fan then shared a snippet of Khalid dancing in the music video for his track Satellite, which came out two years ago. The fan wrote: "Then there was the LGBTQ anthem he gave us in 2022 but ya'll kinda slept. Either way.. hate that Khalid was forced out but he wasn't 'hiding' it. He just didn't need to TELL nobody."
The singer reposted his fan's comment and added: "thank you!!!! I was never hiding." He then wrote in his final post of the right: "aight love yall thank yall I'm off this," followed by a peace hand sign emoji.
While Khalid didn't clearly say who had outed him, his posts seemed to be in response to since-deleted posts from singer Hugo D Almonte, TMZ reported. The 28-year-old sparked speculation after posting his claims on X, leaving fans wondering who he was referring to. The Dominican American rapper then seemingly confirmed he was referring to Khalid as he posted a selfie of the two of them cuddling.

Many fans supported Khalid as he came out as gay, with one writing: "Sending you all the love! you are safe here." Another said: "But you should've been able to tell the world on your own time. I'm sorry people are clout chasers."
A third fan commented: "You never owe anyone any sort of explanation about your sexuality or your private life, I'm sorry that people felt entitled to this. Hope you're doing okay." One more added: "Here's to being able to live authentically as yourself and who you were born to be. We love you, Khalid. Welcome to the cool kids club. Keep inspiring."
Khalid rose to fame with his 2016 debut single, Location, and the following yet he released his debut studio album, American Teen. In August this year, Khalid released his third studio album, Sincere, which debuted in the top 10 of Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart in its first week.
