Gregor Poynton, MP for the Livingston Constituency showed his support for Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual Coffee Morning on Saturday 28th September by attending an event at Murieston Village Hall, organised by the Livingston South Community Church.

The event, part of Macmillan’s largest fundraising initiative, helps raise millions of pounds each year. Last year, Macmillan Coffee Mornings raised over £18 million, which is enough to fund 288 Macmillan nurses for a year, providing essential care to the 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK.

Commenting on the event, Gregor Poynton MP said: “It was fantastic to see so many people from across the community coming together to support Macmillan Cancer Support, giving up their time to help organise the event and provide donations.

“The turnout was great, and the home baking was top-notch. Events like these not only raise essential funds for Macmillan but also bring our community together in a meaningful way.

“With 1 in 2 of us facing cancer at some point in our lives, it’s more important than ever that we do what we can to help Macmillan support people through their diagnosis and treatment.”

Macmillan Coffee Mornings provides a chance for local communities to come together, share some delicious treats, and raise money that will help transform cancer care for the future.
