Police close major Dumfries and Galloway road after crash

A major road in Dumfries and Galloway has been closed due to an accident.

The A75 was shut between the turnoffs for Annan and Eastriggs just after 9.30am on Wednesday morning.

A diversion is being put in place and police are advising motorists to avoid the area.

In a post on social media, Police Scotland said: "The A75 is CLOSED just near to the junction to Eastriggs due to a road traffic collision.

"A diversion will be put in place.

"Please be patient and avoid the area at this time."
