P Diddy moved to 'special protection' cell of New York prison

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has reportedly been relocated to another part of a prison in New York City for 'special protection'. The music mogul, who was arrested last week in NYC, is currently housed in Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn - a facility notorious for its violent reputation.

According to sources, this is the same unit where convicted cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried is being held.

While described as part of the general population, the section has heightened security measures.

The 54-year-old was taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations agents on September 16 and indicted the following day on serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. Despite pleading not guilty, he has been denied bail twice.

The Mirror reached out to Diddy's representatives for comment, while a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told NBC News: "For privacy, safety, and security reasons, the [FBOP] does not provide information about conditions of confinement, including housing assignments or internal security practices for any particular incarcerated individual."

Reports suggest that Diddy has not received any special privileges during his time at the facility. A source told People magazine that "He is being treated like any other detainee awaiting trial." The source also confirmed that Diddy was placed on suicide watch upon arrival, a standard procedure for high-profile inmates.

The insider revealed further concerns about Diddy's family situation, noting: "He has three minor children, two of whom now have no living parent available with him incarcerated." In total, four of his seven children are now without either parent. Diddy has been able to speak briefly to his family and children via phone.

His attorneys, Marc Agnifilo and Teny R. Geragos, have criticised the conditions at the Brooklyn facility, calling it "not fit for pre-trial detention" and describing the environment as "horrific" in a recent rejected bail proposal.

Diddy, who is best known for his career in music a nd as the founder of Bad Boy Records, has denied all allegations and entered a not guilty plea. His next court appearance is scheduled for early October. His legal team maintains that he remains "strong, healthy, and focused on his defense," expressing confidence in the legal process and in the truth.
