A horrifying dog attack in a London street has left two young children and a woman with severe injuries, necessitating urgent hospital treatment. The incident which unfolded around 9am on Mickleham Road in St Paul's Cray, just north of Orpington, reportedly involved four dogs launching an unprovoked attack on a four year old, a six year old, and a 30 year old woman.

In response, police, including armed units, swarmed the suburban road, subdued the animals, and transferred them to police kennels. A woman has subsequently been detained under suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control and is presently in custody, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

According to reports, the three victims were taken to the hospital where they are fortunately not believed to be suffering from life-threatening conditions. An official statement given to The Mirror by the London Ambulance Service revealed: "We were called at 8.49am this morning (5 October) to reports of an incident in Mickleham Lane, Orpington. We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance. We treated one adult and two children at the scene and took them all to a major trauma centre by road."

Mickleham Road is currently under police blockade as detectives delve into the recent incident, prompting a warning of a heightened police presence in the upcoming days. Superintendent Mitch Carr from the South Area BCU expressed his understanding of the community's anxiety.

He stated: "I know this incident will have caused a lot of public concern, especially due to the young age of the children injured. Fortunately, it is believed that none of the injuries are life-threatening. A woman has been arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control and she has been taken into custody. The dogs have also been taken to police kennels while the investigation is ongoing. Extra officers will be in the area over the next few days to provide community reassurance", reports the Mirror.

An eyewitness account from a gentleman to The Mirror described the harrowing ordeal where he stepped in to aid the young victims. He relayed: "I saw the dogs biting the girl, so I had to run over there and separate the girl, when I saw another little boy (...) who the dogs were also biting.
