Getting your haircut can completely transform your look.

So when a dad decided to get a trim for the first time in two years, people couldn't believe how different he looked walking out of the barbershop.

His barber Richmond Barber took to TikTok to share a video of the dramatic makeover. In the clip, posted to his 1.6million followers, he met with a 36-year-old customer who claimed to have the "Jesus look since high school".

The client admitted he'd had the same look since school, which means he's been rocking the same 'do for 20 years. But to celebrate five years of sobriety, he decided to treat himself to a haircut.

He marked the impressive milestone with a new cut. He told the barber: "You know I want that feel good feeling when I leave out of here. I haven't really had that in a while. I'm coming for the special."

Thankfully, the American hairdresser was determined to do him justice. He said: "Hell yeah, this is definitely going to be the best present for yourself yet."

After joking the man looked homeless, he grabbed his scissors and got to work. His decided to take some of the length off – and the results speak for themselves.

The dad-of-two was amazed by the short cut, as well as the cleaner trim. He gushed: "Damn man. Absolutely love [the haircut]. Totally different person right now."

Asked what his daughters might think of his hair now, he added: "They're gonna snap man and not recognise me". People were equally as impressed by the makeover.

The viral video amassed more than 223,000 likes and plenty of positive comments. Dozens said the client had aged backwards after getting the trim.

One said: "36 to 26 is crazy work." While another added: "Damn he has risen." And a third chimed in: "The power of a haircut," then a fourth commented: "You truly resurrected this man, sheesh."
