A third man has been arrested in connection with the death of a "caring" dad in Uddingston. David Graham died from serious neck injuries after he was allegedly attacked in the General's Gate area of the South Lanarkshire town at around 7.35pm on Sunday, October 6.

The 38-year-old was raced to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment but was sadly pronounced dead on arrival. Today, a 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with his death - making him the third man to be arrested.

Detectives previously confirmed that Mr Graham's death is being treated as murder and that enquiries are continuing. Liam Kippen, 29, was the first to be arrested and appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday charged over the father's death.

Kippen, of Motherwell, made no plea or declaration. He was remanded in custody while the case was committed for further examination. The second man to be arrested in connection with the death was 41 years old, but was released pending further enquiries.

David has been remembered as a "caring" man by those who knew him. One person posted on social media: "Thoughts are with the family. David was a great guy, known well by all the community and was a very caring guy. Rip David. Love to all the family."

Another added: "My heart and thoughts go out to family and friends. I truly am so sorry for your loss." A third said: "Can't believe it. You were some boy, Div Graham, you will be sadly missed by so many."

An online fundraiser has also been launched to help the family of Cambuslang man, set up by friend Jamieleigh Walker. A statement on the page reads: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the loss of our beloved David.

"David was the most selfless and caring person you’d have ever met who was tragically taken far too soon on October 6, 2024. This unimaginable loss has left us all devastated.

David was a loving Husband, dad, son, brother and friend. I have created this GoFundMe campaign to support David’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Our goal is to alleviate some of the financial burdens they are facing.

“While no amount of money can fill the void left by David’s passing, we hope to provide some comfort and support to his wife and their family.

“We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone, and we are grateful for any contribution you can make, no matter the size. Every donation will go directly to David’s family to help them navigate the difficult days ahead.”
