Girl, 3, rushed to hospital after car flips on Scots road as woman charged

Emergency services raced to Main Street in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, after the alarm was raised at around 7.15pm on Thursday.

A three-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after a car flipped in a horror crash near Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to Main Street in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, after the alarm was raised at around 7.15pm on Thursday. Officers were alerted to a collision involving a car and a parked vehicle.

Ambulance crews attended and the youngster was taken to hospital to be checked over. A 34-year-old woman, who was driving the car, was also taken to hospital and she has since been charged in connection with road traffic offences.

A picture taken from the scene showed the black vehicle upside down on a pavement in the middle of the road. The car could be seen to be badly damaged as a result of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.15pm on Thursday, 10 October, 2024 we were called to a collision involving a car and a parked vehicle on Main Street in Thornliebank.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the car, a 34-year-old woman, and passenger, a three-year-old girl, were taken to hospital as a precaution. The 34-year-old woman was charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
