The celebrations are underway for staff and pupils at Drymen Primary and Nursery as they celebrate a glowing report from a joint inspection.
Inspectors from Education Scotland and the Care Inspectorate visited both sites in May for their probe, with discussions taking place with staff, parents, children and management.
On the inspection, there were "multiple areas of strength and good practice" highlighted in both the school and nursery, which received ratings of ‘very good’ and ‘good’ across all four quality indicators from the national framework.
That framework sees educational establishments rated on points:
- Leadership of Change
- Learning, teaching and assessment
- Ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion
- Raising attainment and achievement (primary school only)
- Securing children’s progress (nursery only)
Patrick Robertson, head teacher at Drymen Primary School and Nursery Class said: “We are delighted to have received very positive feedback from Education Scotland and the Care Inspectorate in our recent inspection.
"Across both the school and nursery settings, our talented staff teams work tirelessly to provide a setting where our children are excited to learn and develop.
“We are particularly pleased that our pupils' high attainment over time, their leadership skills, outdoor learning and positive relationships were recognised as key strengths.
"I wish to thank the whole school community at Drymen - staff, children, families and partners for their ongoing support to our school."
Cllr Danny Gibson, convener of the Children and Young People committee at Stirling Council, said: “I’d like to warmly offer my congratulations to the staff, management and pupils at Drymen Primary and Nursery Class.
"The joint inspection report is a glowing endorsement of the work carried out by staff to establish a nurturing learning culture that helps each child to thrive.
“Standards are incredibly high across Stirling’s schools and early learning and childcare settings and this has been underlined once again by this well-deserved positive report.”
