Violent sex beast jailed for 12 years after string of offences across Scotland

A violent sex beast who carried out a string of brutal attacks across the north of Scotland has been jailed.

Ryan MacDonald carried out his sickening crimes in the Sutherland, Inverness and Aberdeen areas between 2015 and 2020.

The predator was charged with three counts of rape as well as a number of sexual assaults and an assault to injury.

MacDonald was found guilty following trial at Inverness High Court on Thursday, September 12.

Today, he returned to court where he was sentenced to 12-and-a-half years behind bars.

Detective Inspector Reuben Lindsay said MacDonald was an "extremely dangerous" person, as he welcomed the sentence.

DI Lindsay also urged victims of sexual violence to report the crimes to Police Scotland.

He said: “Ryan MacDonald is an extremely dangerous individual who subjected his victim to horrific sexual assaults and violence. He will now face the consequences.

“Police Scotland takes all reports of violence and sexual crime extremely seriously and we would urge anyone who has experienced this type of abuse to please come forward and make a report.

"Our specialist officers will listen to you and support you throughout the process and together we will bring the perpetrator to justice.”
