Man rushed to hospital after attempted murder in Greenock

Cops were called to West Blackhall Street at around 12.10am on Saturday, September 28 after reports of a 21-year-old man being found injured.

Police have launched a probe following an attempted murder in Greenock this morning.

Cops were called to West Blackhall Street at around 12.10am on Saturday, September 28 after reports of a 21-year-old man being found injured. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

West Blackhall Street at Jamaica Street in Greenock is currently taped off while investigations are carried out.

Pictures show the street blocked off while officers investigate the incident.

Detective Inspector Euan McMillan said: “We are looking for any witnesses who had been in the area around the time of this incident to contact police.
