A beast who preyed on women and children in Fife in a decade-long campaign of terror has been jailed.

Darren Gibson pled guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, September 11, to a series of sex attacks between 2008 and 2019. At the High Court in Dundee today, the fiend was caged for six years.

The 32-year-old's crimes include the sexual abuse of women and children and further domestic abuse offences, which occurred at various locations in Fife.

Detective Inspector Calum Lawrie, of Fife’s Public Protection Unit, said “Darren Gibson will now face the consequences of his actions.

"I hope that this outcome will offer some level of closure for the victims in this case. I commend them for finding the courage to come forward and for their determination throughout this investigation.

Police Scotland are committed to investigating any form of sexual abuse, regardless of when these crimes were committed.

"In collaboration with partner agencies, we are here to support victims through the process and we will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.”
