Speaking during an interview on Truth FM on Monday, Chief Allen expressed his first public condemnation of the ongoing impasse at the Capitol Building.

“Liberia is not a soccer field where you can come and play your game. This unscrupulous attempt to undermine the Legislature by targeting the Speaker is unacceptable,” Allen declared.

He further issued a stern warning to President Boakai and his Unity Party: “Touch not the Lord’s anointed and do the prophet no harm.”

The National Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart revealed that he has distanced himself from President Boakai in recent months, criticizing the President’s governance approach.

“The citizens of this country elected him to deliver meaningful change, but he has failed to do so,” Allen stated.

Chief Allen accused President Boakai of surrounding himself with individuals he described as “unscrupulous bureaucrats” and “underachievers,” arguing that these officials lack the vision and capacity to advance Liberia’s development.

“President Boakai has surrounded himself with a group of people from the old order who have achieved nothing for themselves over the years. They lack innovation and are more focused on undermining progress,” Allen said.

He added: “A man nearing 80 years old still seeking employment is a testament to his failures. While we acknowledge his brilliance, we also recognize his laziness and weakness.”

Chief Allen’s remarks come amid a growing political crisis within the Legislature, with tensions escalating between opposing factions.
