No initial injuries were reported, according to the FDNY. Just under 80 firefighters responded to the fire, according to the FDNY.
The Set’s website advertises the building as a mix between “a five-star hotel and luxury residential experience.” Studios at the building rent for over $5,000 per month, according to the website.
A spokesperson for the building told PIX11 News the fire started in the mechanical room.
“We are grateful to the FDNY and NYPD for their swift containment of the incident and that no one was injured. The FDNY has since called an ‘all clear,’ residents have returned to their homes, and neighboring streets have reopened,” said a spokesperson for 455 Tenth Avenue.
