Worman has industrial plans

Worman Commercial would like to build a multi-tenant industrial building not far from Kelowna’s McCurdy Corner.

The Kelowna company submitted a development permit application for 1200 Mayfair Rd., where it plans to construct a building with 40,000 square feet of main floor industrial space. Mezzanines could also be included in the construction, which would add more available space.

“While this is an industrial building, we feel there is still great architectural detailing,” Worman Commercial’s Shane Worman wrote in the application letter. “We’ve avoided long blank walls by including a large percentage of windows and overhead doors. The facades have also been stepped and enhanced with different detailing, materials and colour. So while this is a large building, it still has a great ‘feel’ to it.”

The plans call for two entrances to the property from Mayfair.

“This application maintains our philosophy of building great building which enhance the neighbourhoods they are built in,” Worman wrote.

Kelowna city planners will review the application before it goes to council.
