Vernon RCMP says anyone with information about Harwinder Sandhu's election signs being vandalized should call them.

Const. Chris Terleski, with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said on Oct. 13 at 10:20 p.m. Mounties received a report that election signs had been vandalized at the intersection of Highway 6 and Middleton Way.

Terleski says the incident remains under investigation and anyone with information that could help police should call the RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file #24-17468.

Sandhu posted to her Facebook page about the incident, reminding people that tampering with election signs is a criminal offence.

"Sadly, damages to our signs have been ongoing since Day 1. To whoever is responsible, I encourage you to turn your anger into positive, productive change that helps better our community,” said Sandhu on Facebook.

“Let’s focus on building a brighter future together. Lots of these signs were dumped by the Old Kamloops Road.”

Sandhu said in a separate Facebook post that she feels sorry for vandals and encourages perpetrators to talk directly to her. Photos show Sandhu's signs deconstructed and dumped, and one with a phallic image drawn on it.

She's not the only candidate to face sign tampering, both Sandhu and Independent candidate Kevin Acton had googly eyes stuck on their signage at Highway 6 and Kal Lake Road earlier this month.
