Foreshore improvement work is coming to Kelowna's City Park.

Work will begin on Monday at the northwest point of the park as a continuation of erosion mitigation previously completed at Hot Sands Beach.

This work will consist of foreshore protection measures, including new ground cover, log placement, plantings and riprap at the base of the retaining wall already there. This is better protect against possible erosion.

"During the work, the City Park promenade will remain open except for occasional temporary disruptions to allow equipment access and for the safety of personnel and park visitors," said the City of Kelowna in a release.

"The parking bay north of the Kelowna Lawn Bowling Club will also be closed to accommodate site staging and equipment storage."

People at the park are being asked to respect safety personnel at work, as well as the signage of any closures at the site.

This work is expected to be completed in December.
