Kamloops Mounties are issuing a warning after a parent discovered a razor blade inside a piece of candy their child brought home after trick or treating.

Police said they don’t know where the tainted candy came from.

“The complainant reported her daughter, who had been trick or treating in the Brock area last night, found a candy in her bag that had been partially opened and a small razor blade was observed protruding from the candy,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Kelly Butler said in a news release.

“The child notified her mother immediately and the mother notified the police.”

Butler said Kamloops RCMP have received no other reports of razor blades being found in candy.
