'It's very violating'

A Kelowna resident is devastated after saving up to buy her dream fire table, only to have it stolen just a few weeks later.

The theft occurred on the patio of her home, a few blocks away from Kelowna’s Rail Trail.

Mari says she saw two individuals involved in the theft, which was captured on a doorbell camera just after 6 a.m.

"It feels very violating when something like this happens. We have items stolen so often that I question whether it's worth my time and the police's time to report it," she said.

The fire pit was over 60 pounds.

"I could see them walk from Tent City towards my house; it was almost within sight. I had the fire pit for 29 days, and I used it every day. I was pretty shocked about it. I saved up for this. It was a wishlist item."

Mari has reached out to the RCMP, who are investigating the incident.

"I would move if I didn't have such great neighbors. It's been super annoying," she added.
