Three local provincial election candidates have confirmed they will attend a special online all-candidates forum hosted by the Shuswap Climate Action Society.

The online forum will be held on Oct. 3, the day after the in person all-candidates forum being held at the Salmar Classic Theatre.

“The next six years will be critical in meeting B.C.'s carbon emission reduction targets and preparing citizens for the impacts of climate change,” reads a statement from the Shuswap Climate Action Society.

“The party that forms government has a huge task ahead to establish effective climate policies in the province.”

The society has confirmed the online forum will be attended by Sylvia Lindgren representing the BC NDP, Jed Wiebe from the BC Green Party and David Williams who is running for the BC Conservative Party.

Dr. Warren Bell will be the moderator of the forum and will pose questions about the candidates stance on climate change as well as party platforms and policies pertaining to climate.

If there is time after the planned discussion, questions will be taken from the online audience.

To attend the forum, register for the Zoom meeting on the Shuswap Climate Action Society webpage.
