UPDATE: 10:50 a.m.

Three youth have been arrested in connection with Friday's swarming attack on a 13-year-old girl at Kelowna's Gyro Beach.

During a press conference Wednesday, Sgt. Laura Pollock said police have identified five youth "aggressors" who were involved in the attack and three of them have been arrested.

Sgt. Pollock said the three suspects, who are all under the age of 18, have since been released on "strict conditions." She said investigators are working to arrest the remaining two suspects.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Sgt. Pollock was unable to say which schools the youth involved attend.

The officer also commended two youth who attempted to intervene in Friday night's attack. One of the youth contacted police during the attack, while the other tried to stop the attack.

Sgt. Pollock noted there was surveillance footage in the area of the attack that's being used in the investigation, in addition to the footage taken by those in the group.

She asked the public to stop sharing videos of the attack, noting the "degrading" video can further traumatize the victim.
