A Vernon home was significantly damaged in an early-morning house fire Saturday.

Firefighters with Vernon Fire Rescue responded to the 2000 block of 42nd Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. to find a “fully involved house fire,” with flames reaching into the home's attic.

While crews quickly worked to extinguish the blaze, the home was left with “significant damage,” the City of Vernon says in a press release.

No one is believed to have been injured in the fire and the displaced residents of the home are being assisted by Emergency Support Services.

The City did not say if there's a suspected cause of the fire at this time.
