Seduction, stabbing fails
by Luc Rempel · CastanetA Salmon Arm woman could face charges after attempting to stab a man in the neck after he rebuffed her romantic advances, police say.
Mounties said they were called to a residence on 11th Avenue NE at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 29 where a man reported a woman tried to stab him in the neck with a pair of scissors.
“Police attended and found the woman noticeably intoxicated and slurring her words,” RCMP Const. Andrew Hodges said in a news release.
“The man stated he went over to the woman’s residence to ask her to turn some music down, when the woman invited him in for a beer and began dancing seductively.”
When the woman’s attempt to seduce the man failed, police said, she straddled the man and attempted to stab him in the neck with a pair of scissors.
The man claimed he was able to push her away and then call police.
Salmon Arm RCMP arrested the woman and held her in jail overnight due to her extreme intoxication.
The woman was later released with a future court date and police have forwarded charges to prosecutors for assessment.
