Police officers who swarmed a North Kamloops gas station last weekend were responding to a report of a person pointing a gun from inside a pickup truck.

According to Mounties, officers were called to a gas station in the 200-block of Tranquille Road at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, for a report of a man in a red Mazda pickup pointing a gun at a person known to him.

“Police conducted patrols, but were unable to locate the suspect,” RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release. “A safety plan was discussed with the victim."

Evelyn said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call police at 250-828-3000.
