Mounties newest member in training is certainly a good girl.

Vernon RCMP introduced its newest police pup in training, Trace, in a Facebook post Thursday morning.

“At 17 weeks old, she has a lot of learning ahead on her journey to becoming a fully fledged police service dog. Maybe she will grow into those big ears,” reads the Facebook post.

“She is an outgoing, energetic, confident puppy with a strong desire to work. She loves interacting with her handler and never gives up the chance for a toy or some zoomies in the yard.”

A fun fact about the puppy, Trace is the offspring of a former RCMP pup, Pebbles.

Police Service Dogs assist RCMP in multiple ways including: tracking, searching and finding missing persons, searching for human remains, capturing suspects fleeing police and helping investigators find evidence related to crimes.
