A woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in Stoke. Police officers and paramedics were called out to Devonport Road at around 7.30pm on Thursday, October 3, following reports of concern for a woman.

An eyewitness told PlymouthLive they saw a "police van and a car blocking the road" yesterday evening.

One woman, 26, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place, Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed. She remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police and Ambulance attended Devonport Road, Stoke, at 7.30pm on 3 October following concerns for a woman.

"A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed article in a public place. She remains in police custody."
