All the roadworks taking place in Plymouth this week
There are 23 new roadworks schemes - plus many existing schemes
by Daniel Clark · PlymouthLiveThere are 23 new roadworks schemes which are about to get under way in Plymouth this week. They are in addition to the ongoing schemes already taking place.
From today, and until October 15, Efford Lane will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm. This is due to resurfacing work which is being carried out.
And also from today, and lasting until Friday, November 22, Whittington Street will be closed 24 hours a day. This is for Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas main works.
Then on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night, Southway Drive will be closed between Clittaford Road (western junction) and Tamerton Foliot Road, 6.30pm to 6am. This is for patching works.
Plymouth City Council has helpfully put out a list of roadworks that will be taking place across the city over the next week. The council is responsible for coordinating works carried out by utility companies, developers and other organisations as well as their own repair, maintenance and improvement works.
They maintain all public roads in Plymouth except the A38, which is managed by National Highways on behalf of the Department for Transport.
“We know there's no good time to close roads, especially on busy routes and we do everything we can to co-ordinate planned works and minimise their impact on our transport network,” a City Council spokesman said.
The following roadworks are taking place in Plymouth between Monday 7 and Saturday 12 October.
