Woman found dead near Plymouth city centre

Police say she was in her 30s

A woman was sadly found dead at a property near Plymouth city centre. Devon and Cornwall Police received reports of concern for the welfare of a woman on Ilbert Street, Stonehouse at about 3.45pm on Monday, October 7.

Emergency services attended the scene, where a woman in her 30s was sadly confirmed to have died. Her death is not believed to be suspicious, a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said. A file will be prepared for the coroner.

An eyewitness told PlymouthLive a number of emergency service vehicles, including a Devon Air Ambulance car, attended the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were notified at around 3.45pm on Monday 8 October to reports of a concern of welfare of a woman at a property on Ilbert Street, Plymouth.

"Emergency services attended the scene where a woman in her 30s was confirmed deceased.

"The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
