Plymouth court list: 32 men and women find themselves in trouble

Two men in their 70s also found themselves convicted for speeding

The Plymouth court list is in and among this week worth of cases was another speeding pensioner, a man who assaulted three police officers and another man who was jailed for domestic violence.

Drink and drug drivers made a big return to Plymouth Magistrates' Court this week, with several convicted of partaking of alcohol or drugs such as cocaine and cannabis before getting behind the wheel of their vehicle.

Others who were unhappy with the request to give samples of breath or urine after being suspected of an offence also found themselves before the courts. Two men in their 70s also found themselves convicted for speeding offences.

DRIVING OFFENCE

JESSIE LAURA CORRIDAN, aged 37 of Meadowfield Place, Plymouth: Failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle, namely a BMW who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. Fined £120. Victim surcharge £48. Court costs £120. Driving record endorsed six points.

RICKY DOUGLAS EARLY, aged 34 of Swale Close, Efford: Drove on Totnes Road, Paignton while using hand-held mobile telephone. Fined £116. Victim surcharge £46. Court costs £300. Driving record endorsed six points.

BENJAMIN CAMPBELL, aged 37 of King Street, Plymouth: Possession of 1.82 of crack cocaine. Drove Jaguar X-type on North Road West whilst disqualified from driving. Drove without suitable insurance. Jailed for eight weeks. Disqualified from driving for 22 months. Second offence of driving whilst disqualified since disqualification imposed in February 2024 and whilst subject to suspended sentence for similar offence imposed in May 2024.

LEE BORDA, aged 43 of no fixed abode, Plymouth: Drove Ford Transit on Molesworth Road, Plymouth while disqualified. Aggravated vehicle taking of Ford Transit. Drove Ford Transit on Molesworth Road withouth suitable insurance. Jail for 16 weeks. Disqualified from driving for 36 months.

CONOR ONEILL, aged 25 of Glen Park Avenue, Plymouth: Failed to provide specimen of urine for analysis at Camborne police station in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence. Drove on A30 at Roche without suitable insurance. Drove on A30 without suitable insurance. Failed, without reasonable excuse, to co-operate with a preliminary test, namely provide a specimen of saliva for a preliminary drugs test. Community order - Mental health treatment for 12 days. Rehabilitation activity up to 10 days. Disqualified from driving for 20 months. Court costs £85.

DAVID JARICHA, aged 46 of Wolseley Road, Plymouth: Failed to provide specimen of breath for analysis at Charles Cross police station in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £48. Disqualified from driving for 17 months. Fined £120.

RICHARD CAROWICZ, aged 41, Pearn Ridge, Plymouth: Fail to provide specimen of breath for analysis at Charles Cross police station in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £92. Disqualified from driving for 17 months. Fined £230.

DRINK/DRUG DRIVE

STEPHEN FOGG, age 58 of St Boniface Close, Plymouth: Failed to comply with community order by failing to attend unpaid work appointment. Sentenced for original offence of driving at Ellacombe Church Road, Torquay with 107mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Failed to surrender to custody. Community order - Alcohol Treatment Requirement for six months. Rehabilitation Activity requirement for up to 10 days. Unpaid work 72 hours. Court costs £60.

JODIE WOODWARD, aged 32 of Fursdon Close, Plymouth: Drove on B3249 with 41mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £86. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. Fined £215.

TAVIAN BURDETT, aged 20 of Chard Barton, Plymouth: Drove Ford Focus on Warwick Avenue, Plymouth while unfit through drugs. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £48. Fined £120. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

THOMAS COLLINS, aged 33, of Buckwell Street, Plymouth: Drove on Macadam Road with proportion of diazepam in blood in excess of specified limit. Court costs £200. Victim surcharge £36. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. Fined £90.

CLAIRE TERRELL, aged 40, of North Weald Gardens, Plymouth: Drove on Wolseley Road, with 140mg of alcohol in 100ml of urine. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £48. Disqualified from driving for 14 months. Fined £120.

JAKE WILDMAN, aged 27 of Chard Barton: Drove on Lime Tree Road with 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Drove without suitable insurance. Victim surcharge £48. Disqualified from driving for 16 months. Fined £120

TOMMY WHITE, aged 31 of St Levan Road, Plymouth: Drove on Albert Road with Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in blood in excess of specified limit. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £48. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. Fined £120.

SPEEDING

GARY MARK PURDY, aged 55 of Bridwell Road, Plymouth: Drove on Mannamead Road in excess of 30mph limit on two occasions. Fined £220 and £440. Victim surcharge £264. Court costs £310. Driving record endorsed seven points.

MICHAEL JOHN TREGENZA, aged 71 of Hallerton Close, Plymouth: Drove on Old Laira Road in excess of 20mph limit on two occasions. Fined £80. Victim surcharge £32. Court costs £85. Disqualified from driving for six months. Driving record endorsed six points points.

CURTIS MICHAEL HILL, aged 27 of Granby Way, Plymouth: Drove on A38 at Wrangaton in excess of 70mph limit. Fined £426. Victim surcharge £170. Court costs £90. Driving record endorsed six points.

LIAM MARTIN CLARKE GRIMES, aged 72, of Down Road, Plymouth: Drove on Mannamead Road in excess of 30mph limit. Mitigating circumstances. Fined £666. Victim surcharge £266. Court costs £90. Driving record endorsed three points.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH COURT ORDER

JOSEPH MADDICK, aged 22 of Winston Avenue, Plymouth: Failed to comply with requirements of community order by failing to attend probation appointment. Fined £40.

BENJAMIN WALTON, aged 19 of Hoegate Street, Bretonside: Failed to comply with community order by faling to attend appointments. Original offence of assault on named man. Prison for eight weeks suspended for six months. Rehabilitation activity requirement up to 14.

GARETH HAM, aged 39 of no fixed abode, Plymouth: Breach domestic violence protection order made by Plymouth Magistrates Court on 30/08/2024 by attending named address. Fined £50. Detained in the courthouse. Detention deemed served by reason of time already spent in custody.

ASSAULT

MATTHEW YORKE, aged 48 of George Place, Plymouth: Common assault of two named men at Go Oudoors store in Cattewater Road, Plymouth. Theft of RAB jacket worth £330 from Go Oudoors store. Community order - Rehabiliation activity for 10 days. Compensation £75 to each man. Fined £40.

ASSAULT EMERGENCY WORKER

SOPHIE GREENER, aged 23, of St Eval Place, Plymouth: Two counts of assault of an emergency worker - two police officers - in Hawkinge Gardens. Possession of a kitchen knife in a public place. Jailed for six months. Compensation £50.

JOSHUA ATCHINSON, aged 31 of Copleston Road, Plymouth: Assaulted three emergency workers - one police officer in Exeter Street and two in Grand Parade. Threatening behaviour in Grand Parade. Jailed 36 weeks.

GARRY LOMAX, aged 41 of Granby Way, Plymouth: Theft from Co-op store, Duke Street, of meat and cheese worth £70. Court costs £85. Victim surcharge £26. Conditional discharge for six months.

JORDAN FLEMING, aged 26 of no fixed abode, Plymouth: Theft of 15 cans of beer from Co-op, Tavistock. Theft of trousers from Mountain Warehouse, Tavistock. Fined £40. Victim surcharge £34. Court costs £40.

MATTHEW DINNACOMBE, aged 33 of no fixed abode, Plymouth: Theft of Dewalt drill worth £55 from B&Q. Court costs £45. Victim surcharge £16. Compensation £25. Fined £40.

HARASSMENT

BENJAMIN WHITMAN, aged 37 of Yarkley Gardens, Plymouth: Racially aggravated harassment of named woman in New George Street. Court costs £85. Fined £350.

WEAPONS

KERRY HODGE, aged 42 of Keat Street, Plymouth: Possession of a meat cleaver in a public place - St Levan Road. Court costs £50. Victim surcharge £114. Community order - Rehabilitation activity for eight days.

DRUGS

WILLIAM MASSEY, aged 21 of Mount Gould Road, Plymouth: Possession of cocaine in Brandreth Road, Plymouth. Fined £50. Detained at courthouse until court rises.

OTHER

FRAZER STACEY, aged 44 of Malmesbury Close, Plymouth: Engaged in controlling/coercive behaviour - namely smelling named woman's body, underwear and bedsheets to see if she had been with other people, tying the curtains together with a cable to stop named woman looking out the window and looking at other men, stopping named woman from seeing family and friends, particularly by continuously accusing named woman of having an affair with family members, friends and police. Assault by beating of named woman. Intentional strangulation of named woman. Victim surcharge £190. Jailed for 32 months. Restraining order not to contact named woman until September 26, 2034.
