Touching tributes have been paid to 30 much-loved people who were from Plymouth, or had links to the city. The messages were placed in the funeral notices section of PlymouthLive's sister title, The Herald.

Therere were 25 funeral notice messages, placed between October 5 and October 11, provide comfort to the loved ones of those either lost or being celebrated. There were also five in memoriams.

Announcing the passing of a loved one in local news media is a long standing tradition and we are proud of the trust placed in us to make these important announcements.

(Al) We are sad to announce the death of Alan Drummond (8/2/47 - 29/9/24). A lifelong Plymothian, Alan began his working life as a carpenter before serving as a local government housing officer for many years and finishing his career in the Derriford branch of B&Q. He will be known to many as a keen amateur bike rider, long-time member of the St Budeaux Cycling Club and organiser of the Plymouth International Cycling Week. In retirement, he was a committed Marie Curie fundraiser and served as Chairman of the Friends of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, a place that was always close to his heart. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he died peacefully at home and is survived by his wife Carol and children Paul and Andrea. Alan's death will be marked by a Funeral Mass at St Peter's, Crownhill at 10.00am on Wednesday 23rd October, followed by a committal at The Park Crematorium at 11.30am on the same day. Family flowers only are requested and the dress code is flexible - Alan always liked a bit of colour in his wardrobe. Mark Roger GLOVER

Mark passed away peacefully at home on 3 October 2024, aged 55 following a courageous battle with a Stroke and then Pancreatic Cancer. Loving Husband to Jane, Mum Francis, Dad Roger (Deceased), Son Philip and Father-in-law to Andrea, Brother to Debbie. For those who knew Mark they will be aware he spent over 16 years working for Toshiba followed by a 16 year career in the NHS. Mark's funeral has been arranged at Crematorium at the Park, 205 Merafield Rd, Chapel 1, Plympton at 3pm on Friday 25th October, followed by a Celebration of his life at the Future Inn Hotel, Lister & Fleming Room, Crownhill, Plymouth. Mark loved his pets and also received excellent care from St Luke's so for those who wish to make a donation there will be a retiring collection. No flowers please.

Joan Winifred HODGE NEE EVANS

Born 4th October1939 in Devonport. Died 13th September 2024 in Torpoint. The family moved to Efford shortly after the war. Joan attended Stoke Damerel high school, prior to working as a telephonist. She married David Hodge who predeceased her in 2000. Joan is survived by her four children, Susan, Allison, Deborah and Michael. She had nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
