Man detained after fire breaks out at Plymouth home
by Toby Codd · PlymouthLiveA man was detained under the mental health act after a fire broke out at a home in Plymouth. Emergency services were called to St Levan Road at around 7pm yesterday (Wednesday, November 6).
They arrived to find there had been a small fire involving a hob in the ground floor kitchen. A man was detained and taken to a place of safety.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to a report of a small fire at a property on St Levan Road, Plymouth at around 7pm on Wednesday 6 November. Emergency services attended.
"Officers engaged with a man at the scene. He was detained under the mental health act and taken to a place of safety."
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service added: "We were called at 7pm and sent three appliances. There had been a small fire involving an oven hob in the ground floor kitchen, but it had gone out before our arrival. We used a fan to clear some smoke."
