FEARED lags linked to the Daniel crime clan have been isolated in ‘The Digger’ in a bid to stop their deadly feud with the rival Lyons mob.

Five high-profile figures have been put in segregation units to try to end the bloodshed of recent months.

But jail sources revealed some prisoners are furious that Lyons crew members have been allowed to remain in pairs behind bars.

An insider said last night: “Most of the Daniel crew are locked up alone in The Digger.

“Tensions are already high and this is fuelling the fire.”

Underworld hitman David Togher, 35 - an associate of cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson - was hauled into solitary at HMP Perth.

Two other Daniel mob members, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were segregated at Barlinnie nick in Glasgow.

Another high-profile hood was isolated at Glenochil, near Alloa.

Insiders also revealed Zander Sutherland - son of late crime boss Jamie Daniel - was only recently released from The Digger at Saughton jail in Edinburgh following a lengthy stint.

The 20-year feud between the Lyons and Daniel clans sparked murder bids across Glasgow.

Six Lyons cronies - jailed for a total of 104 years in 2019 over the assassination plots - are in pairs at Addiewell nick, in West Lothian and HMP Shotts in Lanarkshire.

We revealed Paul Lyons, 39, was allegedly attacked at HMP Perth last month. A man, 32, was charged.

Clan boss Steven Lyons, 40, fled abroad in 2006 after being shot. The Scottish Prison Service said last night it does not comment on individual inmates.
