Avnet Silica bolsters customer Cyber Resilience Act compliance

by · Electronics Weekly.com

Avnet Silica has outlined its strategy for supporting customers’ compliance with the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which is due to be formally adopted this year.

The company highlighted the range of device management and provisioning services it provides at its Logistics Centre – in Poing, Bavaria – to help enable secure and compliant product deployment.

It will also be leading a series of five workshops across Europe to cover Cyber Resilience Act compliance issues.

Additionally, Avnet Silica supports a range of supplier systems such as from STMicroelectronics, NXP Semiconductors, Renesas, Microchip, Witekio and Keyfactor.

Suppliers

Taking some of those in turn, in more detail, ST’s STM32Trust is an Arm Trustzone-M and -A set of security systems for STM32 MCUs and MPU.

NXP’s EdgeLock is a security suite for connected devices at the edge, with remote management of the devices is available through Avnet Silica via EdgeLock2GO.

Renesas, for embedded systems, integrates hardware-based security features into microcontrollers, supported by the DLM Server Tool for key injection. And the Microchip Trust Platform offers both discrete secure elements (ATECC608 and TA100) and integrated ones such as the PIC32CM and ATECC608.

Finally, Witekio specialises in customised security software and services, including cybersecurity workshops and fast-track Linux services. And Keyfactor is a security service provider combining Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Authority (CA) software with end-to-end machine identity management.

Workshops

As mentioned the company will also be leading a series of five workshops across its EMEA region, to help OEMs better prepare for CRA compliance.

Involving experts from both Avnet Silica and partnering suppliers, the locations visited comprise Bologna, Warsaw, Prague, Barcelona and Madrid.

The workshops will take place during October 2024.

“As a strategic partner to our customers, our mission is to provide them with the tools and scalable services they need to ensure their devices are not only compliant but equipped with highest level of security that their product classification requires,” said Romain Tesniere, Business Development Manager Connectivity & Security at Avnet Silica.

“Handling device management and provisioning within our facility gives customers full control of what and how the provisioning is done. Our scalable solutions, whether in-house, on the production line, or directly in the field, help bridge the gap between the vast range of tools offered by our trusted suppliers and the specific needs of our customers.”
