Amphenol expands cable-mount connectors

by · Electronics Weekly.com

Amphenol RF has expanded its TNC product series to include additional configurations in both standard and reverse-polarity.

These new cable-mount connector options are designed specifically to accommodate flexible micro-coaxial cable types including 0.81, 1.32 and 1.37 mm and RG-178.

TNC connectors feature the secure threaded coupling mechanism which allows for increased reliability in vibration-intense applications such as industrial equipment, wireless infrastructure, military communications and broadband technology.

TNC and RP-TNC connectors optimized for micro-coax cable types are manufactured with nickel-plated, brass bodies and gold-plated, beryllium copper or brass contacts.

They are designed with a hex shaped coupling nut which allows for a wrench to be used for easy tightening and untightening and available in straight and right-angle plug and jack configurations. Bulkhead mount versions are also available.

These TNC and RP-TNC connectors join a portfolio of existing RF interconnect that support a wide variety of industry-standard cable types.

TNC connectors operate at 50 ohms and provide electrical performance up to 11 GHz. The combination of versatility and durability allow them to be used across industries and applications.
