The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged  that Andhra Pradesh is currently being governed under a “Red Book Constitution.” Systems are collapsing, dissent is being silenced, and false cases are being filed even for forwarding or posting messages about the government under the ‘Red Book Constitution’, he has added.

Mr. Jagan held a meeting with leaders from the undivided Krishna district, at Tadepalli on Friday. Criticising the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government for its ‘failures and governance lapses’, he expressed concern over the ‘deteriorating conditions’ in education, healthcare, and agriculture. Students were unable to pay college fees due to non-payment of reimbursements, Aarogyasri dues had mounted to ₹2,200 crore, and ambulances under 108 and 104 services were not functioning. Farmers were forced to sell their produce at ₹300 less than the MSP, as the government failed to procure crops on time, he said.

People were comparing the welfare-driven governance of his party with the failures of the current coalition government. The YSRCP government never made false promises and always delivered on commitments. In contrast, the present coalition government lured voters with unrealistic promises. People would soon realise the truth and support the YSRCP again, he said.

‘’To strengthen the party, I will start district tours after Sankranti, treating each parliamentary constituency as a unit,” he said.

From the end of January, Mr. Jagan planned to visit districts every Wednesday and Thursday, stay in the constituency, and meet party cadre. On Wednesdays, he would interact with cadres from three Assembly constituencies, and on Thursdays, he would meet cadre from four constituencies.

Mr. Jagan explained that these two days would be fully dedicated to party cadre, allowing for direct interaction and support to build a stronger connection with the leadership. The programme would be conducted under the initiative ‘Jagananna with Party Cadre – Strengthening YSRCP.’

Stressing the importance of grassroots-level committees and utilising social media to address public issues and question the government’s failures, Mr. Jagan urged party members to remain resilient in the opposition.
